Mark Henderson is an experienced company chairman and director with an outstanding track record in international luxury and fashion businesses.
He was for twelve years, until March 2009, Chief Executive of Gieves & Hawkes, one of the UK’s leading menswear brands based at No 1 Savile Row – developing the business to over 100 stores and concessions internationally. He is currently its Deputy Chairman. He is Founder & Chairman of Savile Row Bespoke a group of fourteen companies formed to protect and promote the art of hand-craft tailoring on Savile Row, a Director of Walpole - 150 British brands and institutions currently chaired by Sir David Bell, ex-Chairman of the Financial Times, formed to further the interests of the British luxury industry, a Director of the UK Fashion & Textile Association and a Director of Graphic Alliance a luxury digital design and marketing agency whose clients include Theo Fennell, Walpole, Vivienne Westwood and Alice Temperley.
Previously Mark spent three years as Managing Director & Shareholder of Czech & Speake based on London’s Jermyn St, retailing perfumery and luxury bathrooms; seven years at Alfred Dunhill mainly in senior marketing roles; five years at Max Factor in North America, Europe and Asia - notably developing the Mary Quant business in Japan to a market leadership position. His early career was in marketing at Yves Rocher and Avon.
Mark was educated at Ampleforth College, Yorkshire, after which he went to South Africa where he joined the Sales Department of P.C. Henderson (Pty) Ltd a British architectural hardware company and studied part-time for his Diploma in Marketing at the Witwatersrand University, Johannesburg. Alongside Crafted, Mark is also a mentor for the London Business School.
